Warehouse racking, often known as warehouse shelving, is a material storage method that involves horizontally storing materials and products. Warehouse racking is becoming more popular as a method of maximising warehouse storage space. In warehouse shelving, a variety of storage components are used.

Load beams, also known as step beams, are support structures that enable horizontal storage of materials. The load beams are attached to the upright framework, which allows for warehouse racking to be installed.

Upright frames are a type of warehouse shelving that is designed to fit into a specific warehouse layout. The upright frames are columns that stand upright and reach as high as feasible in order to maximise the warehouse’s capacity. To boost rigidity and strength, diagonal braces are welded or bolted between two upright columns. They’re also known as the upright frame lacing or horizontal braces.

When storing items in warehouse shelving, wire decking is utilised to promote safety. The wire decking is often a wire mesh that is placed to the horizontal columns to keep the stored products from falling out of the rack construction. The mesh is utilised instead of a solid base to prevent dirt from accumulating on the shelves. The mesh is also utilised to make it easier to identify the things contained in each shelf. This is because the mesh allows you to see through even high-up shelves and determine which materials are housed at any given spot.

Foot plates, also known as face plates, are typically installed at the base of columns to improve column stability. These anchors are fastened in place to keep the columns firmly attached to the concrete floor
